Potluck Brunch & Community Service Project
Many of you shared, via the summer client survey, that you'd like to be part of both volunteer projects and fellowship events at Rise. We love the sound of both of those things so much that we've figured out a way to combine them together by collaborating with Success Beyond the Classroom, a local non-profit that provides programs in the community that support children in expanding their curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
Starting at 11am on Saturday, October 6th we'll share a potluck brunch at the studio and then assemble folders with materials for the Young Authors Conference. The Young Authors Conference is one of SBC's longest running events. This service activity is easy, fun, and impactful. It's open to all ages, no RSVP required and there is no cost to the event.
Come to 10am or 12:30pm class and/or join us for pot-luck brunch and packet assembling.

Restorative Yoga with Kelsey
Saturday July 21st | 2-4pm
With all the action that summertime brings, its essential to take time to slow down and take care of your nervous system. Restorative poses are one of the best ways we know how to do that! In this 2-hour workshop we'll do some movement, but the main emphasis of the practice is on supported stillness created by intentional positioning of your body and the skillful use of props. You'll not only be refreshed but you'll leave with knowledge on how to recreate restorative poses at home using things you already have like pillows & towels.
Yoga for a Healthy Low Back with Catie
Wednesday, July 11th | 5:30-7:30pm
Lower back pain is one of the largest healthcare costs in the United States. Sitting. Standing. Walking. Basically, anything that requires you to be upright can wreak havoc on your lower back.
In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn and experience ways to strengthen and care for your back. We’ll explore how to do that both in your regular yoga practice and, even more importantly, when you’re out in the world living your life. If you want to learn how to decrease pain, increase mobility, and have fun with a great group of people, then this workshop is perfect for you. You’ll walk away feeling great and equipped with tools you can keep coming back to.
This workshop is great for those new to yoga and those with a well-seasoned yoga mat.
Profound Relaxation | yoga NIdra workshop
Thursday September 27th | 6:30-8:30pm or Saturday September 29th | 2-4pm
Restore your body and mind with this two-hour workshop designed to support deep relaxation, help you de-stress, and enhance your emotional wellness.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that helps you to break free of self-limiting patterns, emotions and beliefs so that you can live a more vibrant, contented life. It offers tangible tools to help you relax which can directly support improvements in sleep, focus and concentration, the health of the immune system as well as helping to neutralize anxiety. Most of us, at best, are deeply relaxed only when sleeping. For many of us it doesn't even happen then due to the effects of chronic stress in our day to day lives. Yoga Nidra teaches your body and mind that this quality of relaxation is both possible and accessible. Once you’ve experienced this depth of rest, it’s easier to return in the future.
Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down. Ginny will assist you in being physically comfortable and supported using blankets, blocks and other props before guiding you through the meditation practice.
The workshop will include restorative poses, gentle movement and meditation. It's designed in such a way that no previous yoga or meditation experience is required to participate.
Cost for this two-hour workshop is $30 or if you are a Member at Rise the $25. (Members are students on a Monthly Reoccurring Membership or Annual Membership plans.) The workshop is the same both days and registration price is valid only for the day you select We are offering two separate times to accommodate a variety of schedules.
