Yoga

Catie & Kelsey are not only passionate but skilled at creating classes that are both challenging and accessible. You’ll fit in perfectly whether you are newer yoga or have been practicing for years. There will be three 90 min classes offered over the course of the weekend. You can do as much yoga as you’d like, you don’t have to take all the classes and as with everything we do at Rise you can customize within every class.

Accommodations 

Palmquists’ farm is known for its cozy & comfortable cabins. You’ll have a private room (or shared if you prefer, just let us know that in your submission form.)The cabins are spacious with shared living rooms and gathering areas that include a fireplace as well as a private bathroom which includes a shower. Note that while it’s a private bathroom, it will be used by all guests with rooms in that same cabin.
 

Dining

Mom & Dad Palmquist are also well known for their abundant & delicious meals prepared with love on site at the farm. All meals will be vegetarian. There will be breakfast & dinner on Saturday and breakfast Sunday morning. Light snacks will be provided mid-day on Saturday, and your welcome to bring snacks with you as well if you’d like. Bonfire snacks will be included both Friday & Saturday evenings.

** We are not able to prepare vegan meals, but there is a refrigerator and microwave in each cabin and you are welcome to bring food with you.

** Gluten free options can be available but please note that we are not able to assure that there is absolutely no gluten as all meals are prepared in the same kitchen.

Nature

Palmquists’ farm is on 800 private acres of forest and farmland. There are hiking and biking trails, lakes, a pond and streams to explore.

Location

Palmquists’ Farm is a located in northern Wisconsin, a 3&1/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities. You can arrive anytime 4pm or later on Friday afternoon at the farm and retreat will conclude at noon on Sunday.

The Teachers

Catie & Kelsey have been teaching closely together for over three years. They love yoga, caring for people, and laughing. You’ll find those ingredients showing up regularly in their classes and certainly on this retreat as well. 

Kelsey works in the Anoka public school system as a paraprofessional with kiddos with sensory needs. She is an adapter all the way to the core and loves supporting her school students in exploring the world to it’s fullest not in spite of a disability but in celebration of the distinct set of gifts that they contain. It’s precisely that excitement for the uniqueness of each human that make her yoga classes so fun to be part of. Kelsey has trained not only in vinyasa yoga but in restorative yoga as well…which will definitely be showing up throughout the retreat!

Catie loves to know how things work. The human body and how it survives and thrives in doing all that it does is one of her favorite subjects. After working with Catie on retreat, you’ll come away not only with more knowledge about yourself, but also appreciation for your unique human body and excitement for the straight up gift that it is to be part of this thing we call humanity.
